About Toolantern

Small, honest tools for questions that deserve a quick, reliable answer.

Toolantern is an independent collection of free web tools: calculators, estimators, converters and checkers. Each one is built around a single question, such as "what will this AI workload cost per month?", and tries to answer it better than a search result or a spreadsheet would.

How we build tools

• One job per tool. No dashboards to learn and no accounts to create.
• Private by design. Every calculation runs in your browser. We have no server that receives what you type.
• Show the working. Every tool page explains its formula, walks through an example and lists its limitations.
• Dated data. Tools built on prices or other changing data show when that data was last checked, with links to the original sources in the explainer.

Corrections

If you spot an outdated price, a bug or a calculation you disagree with, please get in touch. Corrections are made quickly and the "last checked" date is updated.

How the site is funded

Toolantern is free to use and is supported by display advertising. Some tools may in future link to products or services relevant to your result. Any such links will be clearly marked, and they never change how a calculation works.
